On the Stone Trail or the Path of Stones, 4 significant boulders are located. Stands along the trail tell about the local ecosystem – inhabitants of meadows and forests. On one of the branches of the trail is a hundred-year-old linden tree.

Āžmuguras stone is a triangular stone prism of gray-brown color, resembling a hump. Not far from the Āžmuguras stone, near a small swamp, there is a Wide stone. It, in contrast to its neighbor, is flat. Legends swirl around both stones. One tells that the Āžmuguras stone is a chipped part of a Wide stone, and rainwater accumulates in the recess of a Wide stone, which heals warts.

Jaunstašuļu stone of the Devil’s footprint is located in the Jaunstašuļu village in a place overgrown with bushes. The height of the stone from the ground is 0.75 m, the girth at the ground is 5.85 m. On its surface, you can see the imprint of a foot, the length of which is 0.3 m, width 0.09 m, depth 0.02 m. There was another foot, it seems to have disappeared with time. On the north side of the stone, three steps seem to have been cut out. Not far from the Devil’s footprint stone, you can see a Horse’s hoof stone with a notch that resembles a horse’s hoof.

Information about the trail:

  • Nature trail length: ~1.2 km (one way). The route is linear.
  • Trail difficulty: easy/moderately difficult to pass, not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
  • Accessibility: throughout the year, the trail is marked. The best time to visit is during the snowless period.
  • Landscaping: there is a place for recreation, an information stand, a picnic area, a parking space.
