The society ‘’Latgale Culinary Heritage Centre’’ locates in the palace complex of Krāslava counts Platers. Latgale region is special with its unique natural landscapes, finished traditions, generous and diverse culture, however, the Latgalian hospitality is the visiting card of Latgale also outside Latvia. Nobody left a house of real Latgalian with an empty stomach. Every guest is treated with rich lunch, most often with one of Latgale culinary heritage dishes – griušļe (mashed potatoes), kļockas (yeast dough balls with curd filling) or buļbu bļīni (potato pancakes). Owing to local delicacies, Latgale is a particularly suitable destination for gourmets. On different farms, you can taste homemade cheese and ice-cream, as well as honey and herbal teas, homemade bread and linseed oil, various fish and meat dishes, confectionery and take part in the rye bread baking process and taste homemade wine of different berries.
