In the exposition “Polikarps Čerņavskis – master and personality” one can learn about the life and work of a well-known Latgalian ceramist, he is also called a father of Latgalian ceramics. It is interesting to compare how during times P. Čerņavskis improved his craftsmanship – starting from simple household dishes, to sophisticated forms of decorative ceramics. Thanks to P. Čerņavskis created Preiļu ceramic group (1986), to continue and develop traditions of Latgalian ceramics.

Potter Jāzeps Caics and potter Raivo Andersons, who teaches master classes, leads tours, is a good storyteller, who will help every visitor to learn to stick it out of clay, and work in the pottery house every day. After firing, it is also possible to receive your work by post – as a nice memory of visiting Preili!

It is advisable to request a visit in advance, visitors can also be accepted outside working hours.
