Environmental and art object – sun clock “Meet sunrise in Ludza!” is located in Ludza city center, near the municipality building.
Author of this art object is Valdis Majevskis. The clock consists of several symbolic objects: roses, numbers, big boulders, and Ludza municipality motto – “Meet sunrise in Ludza!”
A horizontal part of the clock – gnomon – ensures proper shadow formation, after that you can set the time. For the clock to have precise time, special geometric calculations by Martins Gills were made.
