The mission of the museum is to promote the bright and peculiar personalities of Robert Muks (Avens) spiritual heritage and make it more diverse, interesting, and understandable.
After R. Muks died (2006), his widow Elza Avens presented abundant heritage of him and wished to organize a museum in Galeni. Heritage consists of commemorative things, published works, part of the library, furniture, office equipment, typewriters, pipe and tie collections, awards, art objects, photographs, letters, clothing, etc. After Elza Avens moved to the USA, she added to the museum’s collection R. Muks passport, marriage and death certificates, Writers Union card, etc.
In 2007 was opened the memorial room of Roberts Muks, later on in 2013 was established municipality institution – Roberts Muks museum in Galeni (RMMG). Expositions are created similarly to what they looked like in R. Muks lifetime.
