At the family homestead “Apkalnmājas”, there is a leather workshop producing horse harness equipment, various straps, belts, leather pouches, and more.

Visitors are offered guided tours with storytelling, a visit to the exhibition hall, an introduction to different types of leather, the opportunity to try making a leather item themselves, view and purchase products, and learn more about the lifestyle characteristics of the Latgale region.

Offer:

Thematic tour – exploring lifestyle features typical of Latgale at Apkalnmājas (garden, buildings), diversity of crafts, and types of leather (exhibition hall, harnesses, straps, bags). Duration up to 40 minutes. Opportunity to purchase leather products.
Creative workshop – hands-on activity creating a leather keychain or another item (group of ~15 persons, up to 40 minutes).
Picnic area with a covered shelter for groups up to 25 persons (grill, electricity, fire pit).
Sports area (grass surface) – mini football, volleyball, swings.
