Skillful hostesses of the guest house prepare delicious and sumptuous dishes of Latgale culinary heritage from natural local products, as well as exquisite dishes for celebrations or weddings.

Guesthouse ‘’Zaļā sala’’ offers special dishes:

  • ģuļbešnieki – a real potato delicacy, made from boiled potatoes stuffed with smoked meat;
  • asuškas – curd delicacy with heavy cream sauce;
  • buļbu bļīni – potato pancakes with sour cream and curd;
  • groats blood sausage – a traditional dish of Christmas feast;
  • haladņiks – a great dish for a hot summer day, a cold beetroot soup.

 

Special offer: ‘’Pike with smoked breast in a green sauce’’.

Recipe. Put a slice of the breast on a piece of pike fillet, sprinkled with seasonings, wrap it and fry from both sides. 5 minutes before the fillet is ready, put cheese on each piece and fry everything under the lid. Serve hot with fried mashed potatoes balls and spinach-sour cream sauce.

The guesthouse has been awarded the quality sign – Green Certificate.
