The forest museum, or exhibition, offers visitors a fascinating insight into the natural world through a unique collection of taxidermy animals and birds, animal hides, and antlers, all collected and displayed by the exhibition’s founder and forest ranger, Anna Āze, since 1987.

The exhibition also features Anna’s carefully assembled collection of books and publications about forests, while several books on forestry, forest life, and hunting have been written by Anna herself. Visitors can discover the history of forestry through displays of both historic and modern foresters’ tools, insignia, uniforms, telephones, radios, and photographs, illustrating the everyday life and work of Latvian foresters over the years.

Anna Āze captivates visitors with her exceptional storytelling, making even the smallest details come alive. Every guest is invited to experience a small part of Latvia’s rich forest world and gain a deeper appreciation of its natural heritage.

As an experienced nature guide, Anna also offers guided excursions into the forest, where visitors can explore woodland life firsthand. She enthusiastically shares her knowledge about remarkable local landmarks, ancient trees, impressive boulders, wildlife, and many other natural treasures of the forest.
