Acquaintance with the pottery art in Bebrene

Bebrene is home to a master of pottery, Mareks Zavodnojs, who produces black ceramic dishes using ancient technology, just like our distant ancestors who lived in 4500-1500 BC. Ancient fragments of such dishes can be found in the vicinity of Bebrene, while walking on the Birds’s Island and in other places in the Nature Park “Dvietes paliene” (Dviete flood-plains). Dishes are exclusively handmade, without the use of a potter’s wheel.

By prior request, you can master the skills of pottery or purchase pottery.
