Cycling route "Around Lake Lubāns” (No. 33)"
The bike route “Around Lake Lubāns” leads around the largest lake in Latvia (80.7 sq. km) and one of the largest dammed lakes in Europe – Lake Lubāns. In turn, the wetlands around Lake Lubāns are a unique place in terms of biological diversity at the international level, the territory of “NATURA 2000”. Lubāns wetlands include low and high swamps, wet meadows, and moist forests around the lake. The bike route is picturesque and quite simple even for untrained cyclists as it is not hilly.
Route length: ≈ 52 km
Logistics: circular route, so it can be started/finished at any point.
Road surface: the route runs on paved and unpaved roads.
