Every traveler visiting Daugavpils should explore Church Hill – a unique place where houses of worship of four different denominations stand side by side.

The Martin Luther Cathedral was built in 1893 based on the design by architect V. Neimanis. The Roman Catholic Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary was constructed in 1905, and in 1909, an organ made by Polish master Adolf Homan was installed there. The Orthodox Cathedral of Saints Boris and Gleb was built in 1905 as the church of the Dvinsk garrison. The Old Believers’ church of the Resurrection, the Nativity of the Mother of God, and St. Nicholas were constructed between 1908 and 1928.

Viewing platform at the Martin Luther Cathedral in Daugavpils:

At the end of summer 2017, the parish successfully realized a long-planned project – the installation of a viewing platform in the church tower. The tower rises to the height of a five-storey building, while the viewing platform is located approximately 40 meters above the ground. It offers a panoramic view of Church Hill in Daugavpils. The tower of the Martin Luther Cathedral is currently the only one among the four churches on Church Hill accessible to visitors. Entrance – donations.
